CERT & MRC

CERTWhen disaster strikes, you may not be home. Who will check on your family? Who will check for gas leaks? Who will take care of your pets? Your neighbors CERT graduates of course!!! The purpose of the Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) Program is to strengthen communities by using their expertise to promote public health throughout the year as well as during times of emergency. The MRC Program is a specialized function of Cupertino’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.

 

 

CARES

CaresThe mission of Cupertino Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CARES) is to maintain and train Amateur Radio volunteers capable of providing professional emergency communications, increasing the City's emergency response effectiveness, and speeding the recovery effort. Health Screening

HealthCupertino Host Lions Club and Cupertino DeAnza Lions Club will once again have the Lions' Mobile Health Screening Unit to provide free screening for blood pressure, body mass index, vision, glaucoma, hearing, and blood sugar-diabetes.

 

 

Police

PoliceMeet your local police officers. They will give children a personal tour of a 56 Ford patrol car. At the car seat safety clinic, parents can have car seats checked in their own vehicles and receive hands-on instruction from a certified child passenger safety technician. Crime Dog McGruff will also make an appearance at the Fall Festival. Children get fingerprinted for identification purposes. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team will be also be present. You may even get a chance dunk the Captain!

 

 

Ambulance

JumpEver wonder how the inside of the ambulance looks like? This is your chance to actually see everything in there and talk to the Santa Clara County American Medical Response (AMR) volunteers to learn more about their services.

 

 

Fire Department

Police The Santa Clara County Fire Department will help you explore an interactive fire and life safety booth. This educational booth will offer an opportunity for children and adults to play a fire safety game, demonstrate how to test a smoke alarm, and obtain important safety information such as home escape planning, smoke alarm and fire extinguisher information and much more. Safety literature will also be available, so please stop by and say hello!

 

 

Block Leader/Neighborhood Watch

BlockHelp to build community on your block, your street, or in your neighborhood by becoming a Block Leader. Good neighborhoods are those where neighbors work together and look out for each other. Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of neighbors in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime in their communities.
